Counselling & Psychotherapy
You may feel your life lacks meaning and that you have lost sight of who you are and what you want. You might be struggling to make sense of an experience or feel ‘stuck’ in a situation, unsure of where to turn or what to do next. When every path you try seems to lead to a dead end it can seem hard to imagine a happy, meaningful future for yourself.
I work in a way that helps you take back control of your life, enabling you to feel more fulfilled and content within yourself. As an integrative therapist my work is influenced by a number of relationally based theories. These can help me support you in finding meaning in whatever you may have experienced or may currently be struggling with.
Some of our work may focus on helping you rediscover parts of yourself that you may feel cut off from or even unaware of. It is easy to lose sight of who you are as the demands of life and other people often require us to feel as though we have become somebody we are not. I believe everyone deserves to be respected and recognised for who they truly are so my aim would be to support you in finding your true self.

Counselling versus Psychotherapy
Counselling is usually indicated for situational problems (in the present) which can be dealt with over a shorter length of time. In contrast, psychotherapy tends to deal with more historical issues that may have troubled a person for longer. In this case, longer term work is more beneficial in bringing about change.
